Cut the tree and make a stick. -----Original Message----- From: David Koch <dnlkoc...@gmail.com> Sent: Friday, 1 July 2022 10:06 pm To: users@openoffice.apache.org Subject: "Sticking" instances of OO in Task Manager
For years, OpenOffice was, I thought, the "canary in the coal mine" for a needed restart of my computer. When OO files stopped opening I knew it was time for a restart. Last year, due to a similar problem with Firefox on a new computer, I learned that if I opened Task Manager, found OpenOffice and saw several instances of OO listed, I could select one, press the End Task button, and it and sometimes a couple more would close. I continued until all OO files were closed. Then I could open the needed OO files without restarting. Last year I had a very similar problem with Firefox for 2 or 3 months after getting the new computer. Then during a check, the problem was suddenly gone and Firefox now works well. I wonder what causes this problem of various instances of OO, why they "stick" in the Task Manager until no more instances can be opened, and if there is something I can do (or stop doing) to cure that "sticky" problem? --David --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
