Thanks for the reference. The result they describe
(of not reintroducing the ability to start applications
as it was in 1.1.4) seems won't please me, nevertheless I am happy to have the reference.

I didn't see the problem of hanging on boot listed.
From what you say, it sounds like it isn't an issue anymore (1.9.74) so I wouldn't sweat it.
