To Brian: Those tutorials are of no use for someone using Linux and 
say so as soon as you attempt to download them. Where does one get the 
Linux versions?

The tutorials are in OOo file formats and are thus OS independent.
How did you try to (down)load them, and what program did you try to run 
them with?
