another thing i wonder: in File-Properties, on 
General tab, there's a Document number field. what 
is this number based on? i've tried opening a 
brand new doc, inserting a Doc Number field 
(fixed) in it and saved it. then i closed and 
reopened it and it the Document number field 
showed 4. where did it get 4? all i did was open, 
save and reopen it. ideas?

in case it matters, this is in 1.1.2

the document number depend on the number of documents, currently stored 
in a directory or would it be better to have the number depend on a 
template. that means that the number would increment when a new empty 
document was opened from *the same* template.

the first option (check the number of documents in directory) is 
probably not such a good idea, since deleting a doc from directory would 
change the number of every other doc.
