Thanks in advance for your help. Hard drive failed last week (Western Digital WD400), took in to have Windows 2000 Pro re-installed along with new hard drive.
Had MS Office, but lost the replacement disks in a move. While looking at new version of Office came across OpenOffice and decided to give try. Have downloaded the following: Java Web Start Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2 OpenOffice: file name, j2re-1_4_2-windows-i586 (location put down US binaries) Open Office icon on my desktop is the Microsoft flag. When I try to open, get different failures. Have tried to open in Java Web Start, javaw, javaws. Have I downloaded the right Java software? Correct OpenOffice download? For example I just tried to open in javaw, got the following message: Failed to load main class attribute from C:Documents and Settings\Administrator\Desktop\j2re-1_4_2-windows-i586.zip Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
