Hiya,

Thanks for the info... Unfortunately the document i work with a lot (and share) is about 80 pages long with A LOT of line drawings... not really worth going through each time...

But thanks for the tip though, it should work for smaller documents

/Cheers,
Jelte

Hi there,

I've been looking at moving over to OpenOffice a few times now and now with 2.0 (beta) things like like i could actually use it! ;-)

However, there's one thing that doesn't seem to work well. When I open a document written in MS Word, it looks like any drawing that was made is loaded with the wrap settings set to "wrap through". Rather than "no wrap" which is how the drawing shows up in word.

I get a lot of documents from others that have diagrams in them, and they appear all over the place in OpenOffice.

Is there a way to set OpenOffice to on default load drawings/diagrams as 'no wrap' ?

Not when importing from MSO. Most of the problem that you see is the
result of MSO not properly anchoring and/or grouping the
graphics/objects. I can say this because I had to contend with this
feature whilst working at one of the local hospitals. I discovered that
if I anchor the graphics and export them back to MSO format they stayed
put. SO in summary, this is the result of having to reverse engineer a
proprietary format.

Nonetheless if you take a few minutes to group any line drawings and re-
anchoring them all will be well. As for wrapping, this does not seem to
import well and I have not found an automated way to set wrapping
universally.

Hope this help some :-(
