I have treid at least 10 times to download OPenOffice but without success. the server always disconnects at about 42% download. Is it available on CD?

Two possibilities:
Use a Download Manager which will allow you to resume a broken download- see about halfway down this page:
http://download.openoffice.org/index.html
Or CDs from: http://distribution.openoffice.org/cdrom/sellers.html
