http://www.opensource.org/.  OOo is partly based on the GNU General
Public License (http://www.gnu.org/copyleft/gpl.html) of which the
majority of Free software is licensed.

This is a fascinating topic and I recommend learning about it.

An operating system that is based on Free software is Debian GNU/Linux
(http://www.debian.org/) or Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntulinux.org/).
