Actually, I found the problem documented in IssueZilla... http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=37488
They haven't fixed it yet... or maybe just not in the version I have. The issue was just closed on 11 April. I've learned from the issue that it works if I select the "Generic" printer. Actually, the print quality seems a little better from a PDF anyway...
