You could, instead of changing that capitalize setting, type 'n = 84. The ' seems to do the trick. If you look into your cell after pushing enter, the ' is gone so it won't bother you in any way.

Tools > Autocorrect/Autoformat > Options
Uncheck "capitalize first letter of every sentence" should do it.
