Hello Matthias,
I don't think that such thing is possible :( I have been looking for over a week to do that on OOo2beta but I can't find a solution. So if anyone out there knows a trick to do that, I am also willing to hear about it :)
Thanks in advance Ludo

I'm in the process of doing a lot of correctional work on a SQL-database. As a frront-end I use MS Access. To easier do my changes and insert I copy ranges of dataset to Excel, edit them and copy them back to Access. This all works nice and easy just using CTRL-C/CTRL-V.
Now Openoffice has caught my interest and I tried to use it to do the same work. I manage to connect to the SQL-database through ODBC and to cut-and-paste to Calc. What I don't seem to be able to do is to cut-and-paste back from Calc into the database.
Can someone please explain me, how to do this?
Thanks a lot in advance,
Matthias
I did such things using macros :-)
Andrew,
Any chance to have a look at the macro to do that? Or was it just a teaser?
Thanks in advance
Ludovic
I have the macros primarily because I am considering writing a book on database access using macros.... If you are not a macro expert, you will probably want me to distill down the stuff that I have so that it primarily does exactly what you want. For example, I do have a macro that will read a result set and then dump it directly into a Calc document. I did not write it to work with large result sets, but with smaller data, it works just fine. I am also moving data between MySQL and my OOo 2.0 Base Document with no problems. At the moment, I need to go and find some paint.
