Hi Mike,
 If you have a recent version of OpenOffice.org (e.g. 1.1.4) in the "File" 
menu there should be a submenu "AutoPilot" with the entry "Install Fonts" 
which should help you install many fonts. 

Also if you look at google.com and look for "free fonts" you should get many 
links.
