To me, the issue is finding a Linux Project manager that will read and 
write MSProject-compatible files.  One choice is the Intellysis project 
desktop:   http://www.webintellisys.com/project/desktop.html

It is Linux, but not open-source.  I am going to buy it if they ever put in 
a slack calculator.

http://www.taskjuggler.org/ seems quite good. If anyone is interested in
writing an XML import/export tool to OpenOffice.org it would really be great
as it would add a better interface for adding resouces/tasks/etc.
