Sometimes html pages are within a table. When copying into OOo this causes some issues since OOo does not handle spliting a single row across more than one page (this has been correct with beta2.0).
The best bet is to (once copying), select from the menu edit > paste special, then select raw text. Reply to the list if this still does not work. The maximum number of characters in a single paragraph cannot exceed 65535...
