Hi David,
If I was paranoid, I'd say it's a Microsoft plot to stop you 
using open office. More likely, not enough space in you temp 
directory. I had this happen with win2k when downloading 
fedora core1 install disks. The drive with my temp had a 
little less space available than the amount that I needed.
