Macros are scripts which do specified tasks in an application. They are usually either written in some macro language, or recorded from user actions (keystrokes, mouse actions etc.). Their purpose is to make certain complicated and/or long tasks easier to perform.
2. Macro in Microsoft Office can't opened in OpenOffice, that's why ?
These two products use different scripting languages. The situation is the same as if an english-speaking person tried to use a Chinese manual.
