For now, take a quick look at my free macro document... There is a small blurb in section 7.22 Text Tables. Remember, this free document is primarily a brain dump and examples. My book is more coherent.... No time to solve the problems specifically at hand right now.
Although 5.18 Saving And Exporting A Document does not exactly solve your problem, it will probably point you in the right direction. You say that you want to use the same name. I assume that you do want to change the file extension, yes? I took a quick look in my book, and it looks like the filter name is "Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP". My book has better coverage on this than my free document...
