That's a real mess. In that case you can disable CUPS usage of OOo by setting the environment variable SAL_DISABLE_CUPS to a non empty value. To make that persisten you can edit the start script of the OOo installation.

- edit <office>/program/soffice
- insert the followin two lines
SAL_DISABLE_CUPS=true
export SAL_DISABLE_CUPS

This will make OOo not use CUPS but fall back to the old behaviour of 1.1 again.

Kind regards, pl

Hi,
but my printer isn't configurable with cups, only with the ddriver that came with the printer and i have to change the settings every time i print something again - i have the canon 560i and i can just configure it when i print things via "bjcups" - that's a command like "lpr" but it is from canon for this printer, with xups i can change no settings of my printer - that's a mess, because i don'w want to print in the "standard mode" - too much ink.......
any suggestions?
bye
