To add to what Doug wrote, Outlook Express (OE) requires MS Word
for spell checking. By requiring Word to spell check words in OE, MS
hopes to sell more MS Word programs (and probably more MS Office).
My suggestion to you is this: Write what you want to send with OE
as a text file in OOo. Use OOo's spell checker. Then cut and paste it
into an OE message. Send as usual.
Or do what most seem to do and don't spell check your emails ... too
easy !!
Or better stop using Outlook Express (which is a popular target of
virus and trojan authors) and start using any other mail
client(Mozilla Thunderbird, Pegasus ...) - some of them have
a spellchecker built-in.
