I have it running on two systesm (linux .deb version) & so far seems to
be working just fine. I'll try the Windows version later today.

Er, please, why should there be a 2.4.2 release candidate when we have
3.0 "commercial"? Is 3.0 being pulled?
Nope. However there are issue with 3.0 (Impress bullets for instance:
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=92968), and I suspect
it will take some time for the huge OOo user base to migrate to 3.0. See
the release notes for fixes:

To ALL: What with all the bugs and other problems being reported about
ver. 3 I would not be surprised if 2.4.1 will be the mainstay for quite
some time! And that is only from a personal users viewpoint. I have
ver. 2.4.1 on my main computer and ver. 3 on my secondary computer. I
did it that way just in case of any problems that might and did come up!
I believe that the pressure of expectation pushed ver. 3 out the door
way before it was really ready! An update to 2.4.1 would certainly be in
order, but then I am NOT a programmer, only a user! :-)
