In beta 2, Document Converter is found in File; Wizard; Document Converter;
Several times it has frozen up on me, without finishing;
The previous run I called for a manual Yes to each question of
Overwriting the existing file; I did this to find out how far the
previous Conversions had gone;
And it did pretty well this time: It got to 159 overwrites out of 189
total, before crashing;
[On previous crashes of the Converter, there was a "writer" error.]
After restarting, I ran Doc Conv again, but put in No Overwriting this
time, and it ran through the remaining files in a split second.
However, I do not understand the numbers of files reported:
Of the 189 files reported to have been up for Conversion, the Log
File showed only 8;
Yet, in searching and comparing both *.sxw and *.odt, it looks to be
a full conversion?
So, I will assume as much while I gradually compare individual files.
*QUESTION:*
*Does anyone see a need for retaining both sets of files: The old sxw's,
when there are the new odt's? [I have removed 42 of the old ones to
Recycle Bin as a test.] .............. Any help on this?*
