To Mr. Singleton: I am using Suse 9.2.
The following is what I do in SuSE 9.1 using KDE. If you're using
GNOME, I think fileroller is the preferred app to extract the .tar file.
Open Konqueror as the file browser.
Change to the subdirectory where you saved the download.
RIGHT click on the file icon/name.
Select Actions, then one of the Extract options.
The package will be extracted to <your directory>/RPMS.
cd to RPMS
Delete the non-SuSE menus packages then run the following as root or SU:
rpm -Uivh openofficeorg*
