The most probable reason for this is that you saved the text in the native odt-format. Unfortunately this international standard is not yet supported by MS-Office. In order for others to read and eventually edit these documents you have several options: - If the recipient only needs to read the document use File|Send|Send as PDF - If the recipient must edit also then use File|Send|Send as Microsoft Word - If you find it unpleasant to have to think about this everytime you want to send a document, you can also change the default format for OpenOffice: Tools|Options|Load/Save|General and change the value in the dropdownlist to a Microsoft Word-format. Ultimately you can try to convert the others to use OpenOffice as well.
