To do this, you need to create a new template with your preferred margins.
o Open a new document of the appropriate type.
o Go to Format | Page... | Page, and adjust the margins as desired.
o Go to File | Templates > | Save..., give your new template a name,
and click OK to save it.
o Now go to File | Templates > | Organize..., browse to your new
template, and click Commands | Set As Default Template.
In future, when you create a new document it will have the margins you chose.
