It does.  Thanks.  This is pretty convoluted but until I find a better 
way it will have to do.  Ultimately I am trying to get it into a PDF, 
which Excel and OS X can do directly.

If the chart is not sized correctly to start with, the copy must be 
resized.  Fortunately you can do that in writer.  Then it needs to be 
saved to a PDF (via the print panel), which works as expected.
