Either become root or else use "sudo" to prefix the following command: dpkg -i *.deb 3. This command will install 3.1.1 in your /opt directory. 4. You can set up a shortcut to swriter (the word processor) by pointing the short cut to: /opt/openoffice.org3/program/swriter 5.
