Those complaints had a persistent default size of "letter" overriding a user set default of a4. I was trying to dump a4 in favor of letter... But I'd guess it's related > Are you using the standard version of OOo, or one that came with your > linux distro? I use more than one linux distro... on each of which I exclusively use a distro supported package management system to install software. I see this on more than one linux distro supplied version. Including "Kubuntu Jaunty", And the one I'm currently using "Sabayon 4.2" > Please provide the results from: > $ locate versionrc > $ cat <path>/versionrc I don't have "locate" installed, So I used find... with which I found /usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.1/program/versionrc /usr/lib/openoffice/program/versionrc /usr/lib/openoffice/ure/bin/versionrc /usr/lib64/openoffice/basis3.1/program/versionrc /usr/lib64/openoffice/program/versionrc /usr/lib64/openoffice/ure/bin/versionrc You didn't specify which one... But since the /usr/lib versions appear identical to the /usr/lib64 versions I'm only including the text from the 3 /usr/lib versions. (see below) But I'm thinking this is mostly moot as if the only default I can't set is my choice to use letter rather than a4, it is a small thing compared to the fact that the text in those url's reminded me that there is actually a separate printer admin utility... /usr/lib/openoffice/program/spadmin But I note that when I use it to set "letter" ooffice still reverts to a4... <sigh> If this is really something that only affects "Distro" supplied versions of ooffice then it's a non-issue (I'm used to it by now anyway)... /usr/lib/openoffice/basis3.1/program/versionrc [Version] buildid=310m11(Build:9399) OOOBaseVersion=3.1 OOOPackageVersion=3.1.0 ProductBuildid=9399 ProductMajor=310 ProductMinor=11 ProductSource=OOO310 /usr/lib/openoffice/program/versionrc [Version] AllLanguages=en-US BuildVersion=Build 3.1.0.6 buildid=310m11(Build:9399) ExtensionUpdateURL=http://updateext.services.openoffice.org/ProductUpdateService/check.Update OOOBaseVersion=3.1 ProductBuildid=9399 ProductMajor=310 ProductMinor=11 ProductSource=OOO310 UpdateID=OpenOffice.org_3_en-US UpdateURL= UpdateUserAgent=<PRODUCT> (${buildid}; ${_OS}; ${_ARCH}; BundledLanguages=${AllLanguages}) Vendor=Sabayon Linux /usr/lib/openoffice/ure/bin/versionrc [Version] buildid=310m11(Build:9399) OOOBaseVersion=3.1 ProductBuildid=9399 ProductMajor=310 ProductMinor=11 ProductSource=OOO310 -- | ^^^ ^^^ | <o> <o> Joe (theWordy) Philbrook | ^ J(tWdy)P | ___ <<[email protected]>> | | <sigh> --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
