bloomberg ships a plugin for excel where you can download in real time market data to a speadsheet. it is one of the most widely used features by users of bloomberg. this is something that basically makes Calc unusable for anyone working in financial markets. this is a group of power users of spreadsheets that could easily be converted to OOo products IF this feature were to be made available.
i know that bloomberg provides an API for users to customize the application to one's own demands. i am not a programmer (if i was i would have written something like this myself), but i would assume that it is something that could be easily done.
