The thin blue line that is carefully designed to disappear into header outlines, page boundaries, or any page feature larger than a muon is proving to be very much a handicap in my work.
I see NoOp has already replied regarding "the thin blue line" [View:Text
Boundaries]. Is the prior line related to that, or to the following request:
As a bonus, is there a way to make all page breaks (real or imagined) SELECTABLE (therefore killable) in OOo?
Not sure exactly what you are asking:
"real" = hard page breaks (inserted manually)?
"imagined" = soft breaks (resulting from some formatting constraint)?
If those assumptions about your meaning are valid...
Hard breaks: I don't know of a direct way to view them, but if you
turn on "Nonprinting Characters" and "Text Boundaries" [both under
View], then you can see where the page break must be, and delete it.
Soft breaks: Again, "Nonprinting Characters" can be of help, but
usually you need to track down the formatting constraint - often in a
graphic or frame or similar entity - that forces the page break.
