Is there any relatively simple way to capture the number of words in a file for entry into a spreadsheet?
I am running OOo v3.1.1, and have a master document containing several subdocuments. It would be nice to be able to update a statistics spreadsheet, preferably dynamically, but possibly as a result of an update process, with the latest value for the number of words. It's not just the total number of words that is important, but it would be nice to see how long each chapter (subdocument) is to maintain some semblance of constancy.
