It sounds as if you've downloaded (hopefully from www.openoffice.org)
but not yet installed. Normally, you'd have an icon on your desktop for
the downloaded file. Double-clicking that should start the installation
process, and when that is complete you should have a folder in your
Start menu that lets you start the OOo components, like Writer. After
instillation, you can delete the downloaded file. If you have trouble,
there are complete installation instructions on that same website.
