If you mean 'type in their yyyy-mm-dd' dates as you'd previously mentioned:

As mentioned in my other post:
I did find that if I set the Default style (in OOo Calc) to Swedish
(Sweden) and then the Date format to YYYY-MM-DD, the numbers displayed
in the cell and in the formula bar are 2009-12-13. So that may be worth
experimenting with also.

So, set up Tools|Options|Lang...|Languages|Locale Setting|Swedish
(Sweden) and adjust the Decimal, Currency, Language, etc for your liking.
Then, modify the Default style|Number|Date|1999-12-31 they can enter as
2009-12-13 and both the formula bar and the cell will retain that
format. If that satisfies the requirement, then you could save that
Default style or make it an alternate style and save.

I'll try by modifying LC_TIME & LC_DATE on the other system to see if I
can get that to work.
