Hi: I feel incredibly stupid. The first time I start OOo after a reboot it takes forever but I seem to remember that one can preload the basic functionality which means that, subsequently documents open quicker. I've been looking around on my Mac and I just can't find where the programs are stored - I'm too new to the Mac - and come to think of it, I'm not sure I know how to place the appropriate program in some kind of startup folder.
