Well... it was even more complete without OS and OOo version. :-) I just checked by setting a file to read-only mode; opening in linux 3.1.1, and 3.2.0 (OOO320m10) give no prompt. The 'File|Save' is greyed out, you can't edit anything, but 'File|Save-As' is available. Actually I tend to like the prompt a litte more & can see where some users might find the lack of a prompt irritating.
