-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 On further examination, in menu "Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>View" there is an option to select the size of the icons in the standard and formatting toolbars. I selected "large" which does help, but does nothing for the menu and status toolbars.
In the same menu, just below the "Icon size and file" spin buttons, there is a check box labelled "Use system font for user interface". Checking this box does not make any difference to the menu and status toolbars, or to anything else that I can discern. It is in those two toolbars where I would like the font to be larger and the background colour to give a greater contrast to the black typeface than grey. I did discover however that the font type and size and colours in the title bar at the very top of each window are set by the "system", in my case what is set for the title bar in KDE. In window "Tools>Options>OpenOffice.org>Accessibility" there are three check boxes under the heading "Options for high contrast appearance", but checking them does not make any difference as far as I can tell. So, it is beginning to appear that the answer to all of the questions I asked in my first post is "NO". In that case it would appear that a complete overhaul of font and colour choices would be in order, as least for OOo for Linux. I would like the option to use my choice of fonts and colours for the user interface, in my case those I choose in KDE. The colours choices in OOo would then be restricted to OOo *applations*, e.g., the text itself for Writer, and so on.
