Although the bata version(s) of 2.0 that I have played with on Linux
seem pretty cool -- the huge improvement in the Mac product over the
X-windows version is enough to make me happy. Obviously the folks
doing the work to port OOo and create the mac interface have to wait
for a reasonably stable release before they can move ahead, so the
neo office version will always be behind the "regular" version.
I am sure this is a silly question, but why do you want bata
versions? -- I would have thought that a stable release would be
preferable for daily use.

It is not very clear from that page that the X11 version is at
OOo1.1.2 and the NeoOffice/J one is at OOo1.1.4.
Besides, there are no links to beta versions...

Take a look at neo office/j (http://www.neooffice.org/) -- This
is a
much more mac like version of OpenOffice than the X-windows version

For the record, both are offered via the Downloads tab and link on
www.openoffice.org. Mac users should check what is available often.
