Open Office did have a calendar application, but it was dropped a long time ago. If you're looking for a free equivalent to Outlook, I think most people in here would recommend you take a look at Mozilla Thunderbird for email, and the add-on Lightning for diary functionality. I used them when I was running on Linux and as far as I know, the Windows versions are just as good.
