For the record, please post something that will distinguish the way
you pronounce Tims from Temms.
For the record:
"Tims" - The "i" pronounced as in "Bin" or "Jim"
"Temms" - The "e" pronounced as in "Ten" or "Lemon"
Actually, while the Brits I know say "Temms", our Aussie cousins,
speaking "Strine" probably would say "Tims"!! :-)
Many thanks. Then this is a "pin" vs "pen" distinction. The difference
is one of tongue placement and lip opening, Tims being the slightly
brighter sound.
