It isn't clear exactly what "membership" you're referring to, but if
you're getting e-mail from this list other than those being copied to
you directly as a result of your message, there is an address other than
[email protected] that was subscribed. Maybe messages are being
forwarded from an old account. In any case, none of the volunteers on
this list can unsubscribe you, you'll have to do that yourself.
The first thing needed is to determine the address that is actually
subscribed. To do this, you'll need to look at the full header for one
of the messages you are getting automatically (not this one or any other
direct response). Ctrl-U sometimes works, or check the help information
for your e-mail program. You'll see something similar to the following:
Return-Path: <[email protected]>
The part between the hyphen after the number and the at sign is an
indirect form of the subscriber's address, with an equals sign instead
of an at sign. Suppose that, for you, it's martha=isp.com. Send a
message to [email protected]; the subject
and content don't matter, just the address. You should very soon get a
confirmation message for unsubscribing. Replying to that should complete
the unsubscribe, and you'll get a "Goodbye" message.
If you still have problems unsubscribing, or if this is not what you
meant, I'll try to help you off-list ([email protected]).
