An openoffice tutorial states it is easier to edit the content.xml
file when entering repetitive elements and I agree. I prefer to use a
text editor.

I have never experienced a 'corrupted file' error. I used jedit text
editor with archive plugin successfully and used the 'reload' function
in writer. A crash had occurred only if the xml file was malformed;
otherwise no problems occurred.
