Hi Peter,

First to answer your points:
1. Only one tick under T. Have tried ticking M but no change.

It shouldn't after further thought.

4. Tried the uninstall-reinstall. I previously had version 1.1.3 on this computer - could there be any leftover errors?? I followed all recomended choices when installing both 1.1.3 and later 1.1.4. I uninstalled 1.1.3 before upgrading to version 1.1.4.

Odd...

I'm it Australia, therefore my Windows regional settings and Language are set for Australia.

I note that OpenOffice only has one Language - American english.

Actually, there is a Great Britain English to. The American one ends in en_US and the Great Britain one ends in en_GB.

I am reluctant to change things too much as I might cause more problems for myself with other programs etc. Do you imagine that there is a connection between Autocorrect/Autoformat that might be Language dependant??

See my note below.

Back to you to make your day.

Check for me two things (I am stretching now. :( --

1) Go to *Tools > AutoCorrect/AutoFormat > Options Tab*, what language is one top of the box?

2) Whatever paragraph styles you were using (I assume default), right click on it in the Stylist or somehow get to the Format Paragraph dialog. Click on the Font tab. What is the language listed there?

If they are not the same, I think that is the issue. Make them the same, if they are the same, well, crap.

HTH,
