I cannot reproduce your symptoms with 1.1.4, 1.1.5rc or 1.9m113. I
suggest this is a SuSE problem. See if SuSE offers an upgrade that works
and if not consider replacing whatever is on board with something more
recent from http://download.openoffice.org/ chances are SuSE's version
is old.

- The old StarOffice format (5.x) is no longer supported.
In later update versions it was fixed (I'm not sure completely)
