I have just installed Open Office and have some documents made by
Microsoft Office that I need to continue working on in OpenOffice.
I have experienced a very serious problem when trying to open a Excel .xlw
file. On opening the file I was presented with the ASCII-filter, and
instead of a worksheet I got 2 pages of a textdocument with mostly signs
and numbers. I closed the document without saving. Nontheless my original
22K document was now reduced in size to less than 1k.
I have opened .xls files, .doc files and .pps files without problems.
I am using Open Office 1.1.3 translated to norwegian (nynorsk)
