I would make sure that you have the correct video drivers for your
video card installed, NT was (is??) not really built as a desktop os,
did not do a very good job of auto detecting video cards, and when
used as a server OS was quite happy with a 640x480 vga setting.

First off, I am using openoffice version 109 on one NT machine, and
version 125 on another NT machine, and the following problem occurs in
both. When I'm editing my documents, it is very common for weird bits
of images, such as darker lines, distorted text, or portions of a
deleted or moved image, to remain floating around. When I scroll down
out of sight from these mistakes, then scroll back to them, they are
generally gone. Also, if I just go and print the document with the
distortion visible, it prints fine as if there is no distortion.
Another distortion problem occurs when I paste a screenshot into my
Writer documents. Often the text in the image will look incredibly
small and will be missing portions of letters so that it looks quite
messy, and it will not look better when you scroll out of sight and
come
back. But if I print the document, the image will print out fine. Is
there some setting I can configure to correct this problem? This is a
serious issue since we would like to be able to see on the screen
exactly what would be printing so that we can make necessary changes
without having to continually print the documents for verification
(quite costly for larger documents). Thank you for any help you can
give.
