Using the standard install will install OOo on the compueter as it should. 
If the other users don't want to they wont do the second part of the 
installation (which is the user specific part).

Yourself will then complete the installation (the user part) and you can use 
it happily. That way, when they finally change there minds, they can 
complete the user installation and away they go.
