Hello there and thank you for your reply! I was using beta1, but have since downloaded beta2 and still get the same problem, even with document now written in beta2. The documents are in Draw and are basically a collage of several photos and text areas, covering the whole of the document. As I mentioned before, it might print perfectly after I created the document, but when I re-open, without having changed anything, blank areas will not appear on the screen, but on the print preview and the actual print. These areas may be in a different spot again the next time I open the document and are not covering any particular element of my documents, although they always seem to be in the bottom half of the document. I intially thought that I might have accidently created a blank box or something like that, which were then coming into the foreground, but have re-done some of them to make sure that wasn't the case. The only way round it is saving them as PDF's and printing them out as such - no blank areas to be seen anywhere! ...and no sudden onset of swearing ;-) But apart from these blips, I would like to say thank you to all the people who have created OO and to those who contribute on this list. I'm still learning and this helps a lot. Billa
