what would be the best way to create documents with a4 paper size and
print them as booklets on a3 ?
is this possible at all ?
the original document consists of a4 paper size pages, it is printed
on a3 paper as a booklet so that size of the resulting pages is a4.
i tried brochure printing, but it sort of prints four pages per real
page, but i would like only two of them...
Rich,
Yes.
File > Printer Settings > Properties
Set your paper size to A3 and Orientation to Landscape.
oh. turns out i have to manually set page to landscape ;)
when i did that, printout came just as expected on a4 paper.
i hope to test it some time later on a3 this way.
and thanks to grs for a pointing to user guide where brochure
description helped me to better undrestand this functionality :)
if manual page setting to landscape in printer settings is intended,
maybe this could be added to userguide ? (i tried printing with m130 as
this functionality will be used with 2.0)
File > Print > Options
Under Pages check Brochure and either Left pages or Right pages.
I don't know anything about duplex printing (i.e. printing on both sides
of the page in one operation).
just tried that - works as a charm if you set duplex to short edge.
even works fine if i set, for example, to print pages 1-2 and 5-6 so
that inner page is a single one.
You might have to do a couple of test print-outs to check whether you
need to print your "left" or "right" pages in reverse order.
a3 printer is not double sided, so i'll have to test that, but i think
that is manageable :)
Have fun :-)
