4.x? We're no where near 4.x. We haven't even gotten 2.0 yet! NeoOffice/J and the OOo X11 Mac port are *BOTH* based on OpenOffice.org 1.1.4.
NeoOffice/J does not require any additional downloads or crazy developer installations of Mac OS X. It is a far better quality product, and is by no means behind the times.
