This sounds like a problem I had with version 109 a while back (and still have, we haven't upgraded yet). I could not navigate to the file by UNC name. Only through mapping or by doing File -> Open, like yourself. This has only happened with one of the many network drives at the company I work at. I opened an issue regarding it and have had no response as of yet. The issue number is 53184. Let me know if you learn anything. Thanks,
