Does Slackware use .deb's? If so use alien or download from
ftp://ftp.linux.cz/pub/localization/OpenOffice.org/2.0/OOo_2.0_native_LinuxIntel_langpacks_deb/

If not then you a previous poster suggested rpm2tar
